Do You Have an Irregular Heartbeat?

The University of Chicago and Dr. Susan Kim are conducting a study for people who have atrial fibrillation (AF). Atrial fibrillation is when you have an irregular heartbeat that can cause blood clots to form in the heart.

This study is to evaluate an experimental drug in patients who have a history of chronic atrial fibrillation (AF) or have been newly diagnosed with AF, plus have at least one other risk factor for stroke. An experimental drug is a drug that is not approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Participation in this study will last at least one year but could last as long as three years or more.

You may not benefit directly from this research. Information obtained during the course of this study may contribute to a better understanding of AF and may be useful in selecting medicines for the future treatment of this condition.
