Do You Have Heart Failure?

The University of Chicago and Dr. Beshai are conducting a study for people who are scheduled to receive a cardiac resynchronization therapy device (CRT-D) for their heart failure.

The purpose of this study is to determine the benefits of optimizing your CRT device. Optimizing means that the study doctor will use timing features to program your device in an effort to improve the treatment you receive. This programming feature has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). You may be in this study for one year.

It is possible that by pacing both lower chambers of your heart you will feel better. By participating in this study, it is also possible that you may experience an added benefit from the CRT-D optimization technique.
