The medical care staff sees patients by appointment, although walk-in and same day appointments are available for established patients. A large nursing station is used to triage walk-in patients and to provide supervised nursing care to patients. The triage effort includes telephone consultation to provide urgent medical advice, as well as to coordinate visits to the clinic. After hours medical care and advice are coordinated through a 24-hour physician on-call service.
University of Chicago Physicians Group offices in several locations provide primary care for adults with specialists in general internal medicine.
