You are invited to apply for any open positions listed for which you believe you are qualified. Internal candidates (applicants who are currently employed by the University of Chicago Medical Center) will be given first consideration for all positions. Employees of the University of Chicago (BSD employees) are considered external candidates.
External Candidates
If you are not currently an employee of the Medical Center, we invite you to view our available positions in the Job Opportunities section and follow the instructions provided to create your profile and to submit an on-line application.
Please be prepared to enter your e-mail address and password. You will be able to use that same information to access your profile and on-line application in the future.
Nurses
We will be able to process your job application much faster and better if you submit it online. However, if you have difficulty submitting your resume online, you may fax it to Cheryl Portner, RN, at (773) 702-0265.
All Other Candidates
In an effort to process resumes and applications more efficiently, we will no longer accept them in person, via fax, or mail.
Internal Candidates
Nurses
If you are currently an employee of the Medical Center, complete an internal application for job vacancy (bid form) and return it, in person, to Nurse Recruitment. Bid forms are available in Nurse Recruitment or on the intranet. Internal candidates will be given first consideration for any open position.
Be sure to attach your resume and include the requisition number, job title, and the department when you apply.
All Other Candidates
If you are currently an employee of the Medical Center, you must apply online. Job openings are announced internally before they are publicized externally, so view job openings on the intranet instead of on the hospital's external Web site to see the most complete list of available openings. Internal candidates will be given first consideration for any open position.
