Anjana Pillai, MD, is a board certified gastroenterologist and transplant hepatologist who specializes in the management of chronic liver diseases. Dr. Pillai is the medical director of the multidisciplinary liver tumor clinic, which primarily treats patients with liver cancer, bile duct cancer and other benign and malignant liver masses. As an associate member of the University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center, Dr. Pillai works in conjunction with the cancer center to provide the best treatment to her patients.

Dr. Pillai is also an active researcher, with a focus on viral hepatitis and hepatocellular carcinoma. She is currently investigating the use of biomarkers to assess both disease response and progression in these patients.
