Colin S. Poon, MD, PhDAssistant Professor of RadiologyDirector, Head and Neck ImagingDirector, Neuroradiology Fellowship ProgramColin Poon, MD, PhD, is an expert in diagnostic neuroradiology for adults and children. He specializes in the use of X-ray, ultrasound, MRI, CT, angiography and nuclear imaging (PET/CT and SPECT) to diagnose conditions of the brain, spine, head and neck. Dr. Poon's clinical interests cover a wide spectrum of diseases including cancer, congenital malformation and degenerative disorders. As a physician in the University of Chicago Brain Tumor Center, he collaborates with a multidisciplinary team of experts in the diagnosis and treatment of brain tumors. He is also a member of the multidisciplinary head and neck cancer team, providing his radiological expertise for these patients. Dr. Poon's research includes the development of new imaging methods to improve disease diagnosis. He is involved in many clinical studies. An active speaker, he frequently gives presentations at radiology conferences throughout North America. Dr. Poon regularly publishes articles in imaging journals and has authored chapters in several radiologic textbooks. He serves in many national and international radiological societies.
