David P. Cohen, MD
Professor of Obstetrics/Gynecology
Chief, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
Dr. David Cohen is an expert in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. His primary focus is on fertility preservation for cancer patients -- including fertility preservation for children and adolescents with cancer. His goal is to optimize the egg freezing process, and offer this service to patients facing treatments that lead to early menopause and to women interested in diminishing the age-related risks of infertility. He is also interested in the surgical management of many gynecologic disorders that are frequently associated with infertility, pelvic pain, or abnormal bleeding -- such as endometriosis, fibroids, and tubal obstruction.
Dr. Cohen has developed a program to assist patients interested in pre-implantation diagnostics to prevent genetic disease. He also cares for children with many different blood disorders.
In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr. Cohen is a faculty member in the MacLean Center for Medical Ethics, and serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Experimental & Clinical Assisted Reproduction.
