Jayant Pinto, MD

Assistant Professor of Surgery

Dr. Jayant Pinto is an expert in sinus and nasal diseases, including chronic sinusitis, allergic rhinitis and olfactory dysfunction. He also treats common conditions of the head and neck such as acid reflux disease, sleep apnea and salivary gland disease.

His recent research focuses on the basic physiology of the nose. Dr. Pinto also has several research projects underway in an effort to find variation in genes that underlie chronic sinusitis, allergies, olfactory disorders and hearing loss. These studies represent a first step toward designing new diagnostic tests and improved treatments for these difficult conditions.

In addition, Dr. Pinto is a regular speaker at national conferences on otolaryngology and genetics.
