Jean-Luc Benoit, MDAssociate Professor of MedicineDirector, Travel ClinicDr. Jean-Luc Benoit is an expert in travel medicine and infectious diseases. He is active in the HIV and infectious diseases clinics, where he treats complex infections, including immunodeficiencies, post-surgical infections, endocarditis and fever of unknown origin. He also oversees the infection management of patients in the infectious diseases consult service. Recognized as a leading educator at the University of Chicago, Dr. Benoit is director of the infectious diseases fellowship program. He plays a prominent role in the organization of teaching curricula within the department. Dr. Benoit teaches extensively about HIV, parasitology and tropical medicine. He has a tropical medicine diploma from the Institut de Médecine Tropicale Prince Léopold, Belgium and a Certificate of Knowledge in Clinical Tropical Medicine and Traveler’s Health from the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH).
