Jeanne Farnan, MD, MHPE

Associate Professor of Medicine

A specialist in hospital medicine, Jeanne Farnan, MD, MHPE, focuses on her career on research and scholarship in medical education. Dr. Farnan's research includes examining effective communication during patient hand-offs in a hospital setting. She also studies the relationship between social media and professionalism. Her work has resulted in more than 50 publications – including several book chapters -- and numerous invited speaking presentations.

Dr. Farnan is active in medical education, serving as director of clinical skills education, director of curricular evaluation and medical director of the Clinical Performance Center at the Pritzker School of Medicine. She also is faculty in the MERITS (Medical Education Research Innovation and Technology) fellowship program. She teaches students, residents and fellows in classroom, clinical and research settings.
