Krishnan, MD, PhDAssociate Professor of Medicine and Health StudiesDirector, Asthma and COPD CenterDirector, Refractory Obstructive Lung Disorders ClinicDr. Jerry Krishnan has devoted his career to the care of adults with severe asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other complex obstructive lung disorders. He specializes in early detection for at-risk patients, in addition to advanced diagnostic and treatment techniques for patients with difficult-to-manage obstructive lung disorders. With the goal of improving the lives of patients with asthma and COPD in the global community, Dr. Krishnan focuses his research on the origin and treatment of asthma and COPD, as well as the quality of healthcare, patient adherence to therapy and health disparities in women and ethnic/cultural minorities. A dedicated educator, Dr. Krishnan teaches clinical research methodology to medical students, post-doctoral fellows, and other trainees at the University of Chicago and other national and international venues. Dr. Krishnan also serves on several advisory committees and review groups for organizations including the National Institutes of Health and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
