Beshai, MD, is an expert in cardiac electrophysiology, an area of medicine focused on the treatment of heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias). Dr. Beshai provides the full range of treatment options, from radiofrequency catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia and supraventricular tachycardia, to pacemaker and defibrillator implantation to control irregular heartbeats. He is certified as a diplomat by the American Board of Internal Medicine in cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. Currently, he serves as a manuscript reviewer for major cardiology journals, including Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Heart Rhythm, Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, American Journal of Cardiology, and the American Heart Journal. A respected scientist, Dr. Beshai’s clinical research interests are focused on device therapy in patients with congestive heart failure (CHF) and sarcoidosis. Additionally, he is involved in multiple studies developing new technologies and approaches to radiofrequency catheter ablation of complex arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. Dr. Beshai served as the national principal investigator and Steering Committee chairman for the Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy in Heart Failure and Narrow QRS complexes (RETHINQ) trial, and was the first author of its publication in the New England Journal of Medicine.
