Kenneth Pursell, MD

Professor of Medicine

Kenneth Pursell, MD, is skilled in the prevention and treatment of infections in transplant recipients and the management of HIV/AIDS. He has special expertise in the treatment and management of patients who receive stem cell and solid organ transplants. As chief transplant consultant, Dr. Pursell plays a critical role in the success of transplant procedures. He also sees patients in the general infectious diseases clinic, specializing in the treatment of HIV/AIDS.

His research interests include developing a surrogate marker of immune function to identify transplant patients at risk for invasive fungal infections, complicated cytomegalovirus (CMV) infections following transplantation, and studying solid organ transplantation in HIV patients.
