Dr. Laura DiGiovanni is an expert in fetal diagnosis and in the management of pregnancies complicated by high-risk conditions, including:

• Structural fetal anomalies detected during ultrasound (such as spina bifida, congenital heart defects, abdominal wall defects, cleft lip, brain malformations, limb reduction defects, renal anomalies, and abnormal masses)
• Chromosomal abnormalities
• Genetic conditions

Under her direction, the Fetal Center uses a multidisciplinary approach to care for women with high-risk pregnancies, while addressing supportive needs of the entire family.

Dr. DiGiovanni is an award-winning researcher and teacher with a particular focus on fetal monitoring and the prevention of preterm labor. She has authored numerous publications and is an editorial reviewer for the International Journal of Gynecology and Obstetrics and the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. DiGiovanni assembled a multidisciplinary team of obstetricians, pediatric surgeons and anesthesiologists to plan the complicated delivery of an infant with a cervical teratoma, a rare tumor of the neck made up of a variety of tissues.
