M. Kelly Nicholas, MD, PhDAssistant Professor of NeurologyDirector, Neuro-Oncology ProgramDr. Martin Kelly Nicholas is an expert neuro-oncologist. He provides comprehensive care for brain tumor patients in both the neurology and hematology/oncology clinics. Dr. Nicholas and his colleagues offer a multidisciplinary, clinical trials-based program for patients with malignant gliomas and brain metastases. He also diagnoses and treats neurological complications of systemic cancer. Dr. Nicholas's basic and clinical research focuses on the biology of brain tumors and the mechanisms of metastasis to the brain. He is exploring a novel vaccine strategy for brain tumors in laboratory models. A devoted teacher, Dr. Nicholas trains medical students, residents and post-doctoral fellows at the University of Chicago. He is also active in brain tumor patient advocacy groups.
