Maria M. Tsoukas, MD, PhDAssistant Professor of MedicineDr. Maria Tsoukas specializes in general dermatology, skin cancer therapy, cosmetic dermatologic surgery and cutaneous laser surgery. She has expertise in the use of multiple laser therapies, particularly in skin photodynamic therapy for the treatment of precancerous lesions, photoaging and acne. Dr. Tsoukas' research interests are focused on minimally invasive laser techniques in dermatologic care, as well as skin cancer prevention and chemoprevention in healthy and immunocompromized patients. She also has interests in skin cancer epidemiology and skin genomics. Dr. Tsoukas directs several research studies investigating the expansion of skin photodynamic therapy in the treatment of precancerous lesions and inflammatory acne.
