Matthew Blecha, MDClinical Associate of SurgeryMatthew Blecha, MD, is a vascular surgeon. He specializes in peripheral vascular disease, including: lower extremity arterial disease, carotid artery occlusive disease, varicose veins and lower extremity venous insufficiency, aortic and peripheral artery aneurysms, deep vein thrombosis, renal artery and mesenteric artery occlusive disease, dialysis access and wound care. Whenever possible, he performs minimally invasive alternatives to traditional open procedures. Dr. Blecha's research focuses on diagnostic challenges associated with vascular diseases, and how to treat these diseases with laparoscopic procedures. An accomplished author, his research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Vascular Surgery and the Journal of the American College of Surgeons. He has also served as the editor-in-chief for several board review textbooks. In addition, Dr. Blecha is frequently invited to present his work at national conferences and meetings on vascular surgery.
