He is a general cardiologist, and he treats patients with all types of heart disease and risk factors for heart disease. A popular speaker, Dr. Sorrentino has been invited to give lectures and run education programs at more than 500 local, national and international meetings and events. He has written numerous publications on preventive cardiology, including a recent book, “Hyperlipidemia in Primary Care”. In 1999, Dr. Sorrentino was designated a specialist in hypertension by the American Society of Hypertension. In addition, he was honored by Chicago magazine as one of the top cardiologists in the Chicago area in 2000, 2008, 2010 and 2011. He was named as one of the Best Doctors in America in 2007.
