Matthew Sorrentino, MDAssociate Professor of MedicineDr. Matthew Sorrentino is a non-invasive preventive cardiologist with expertise and research interests in treating hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol), hypertension and coronary artery disease. He is a general cardiologist, and he treats patients with all types of heart disease and risk factors for heart disease. A popular speaker, Dr. Sorrentino has been invited to give lectures and run education programs at more than 500 local, national and international meetings and events. He has written numerous publications on preventive cardiology, including the role of nutrition in the prevention of heart disease. In 1999, he was designated a specialist in hypertension by the American Society of Hypertension.
