Morton Arnsdorf, MDProfessor of MedicineMorton Arnsdorf, MD, is a nationally known cardiologist with many years of experience treating people with a wide variety of heart problems. Dr. Arnsdorf's clinical interests include arrhythmias, atherosclerosis, and hypertension. An accomplished researcher, Dr. Arnsdorf has published numerous scientific articles on medications to treat arrhythmias; atomic force microscopy to study the molecular function of cells; and many other topics. His peers recognized these accomplishments by electing him a master of the American College of Cardiology, an honor bestowed on fewer than 50 cardiologists in the United States. Dr. Arnsdorf is co-editor of UptoDate in Cardiology, a computerized book about current practices in cardiac care. He has served as a trustee and secretary of the American College of Cardiology. In the past, he has been president of the Chicago Heart Association, a trustee and member of the Steering Committee of the American Heart Association, a fellow of the Clinical Council of the American Heart Association, governor for the State of Illinois of the American College of Cardiology, president of the Illinois Chapter of the American College of Cardiology, and president of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Society.
