Pratik Shah, MD

Assistant Professor of Medicine

Pratik Shah, MD, is a respected nephrologist trained to diagnose renal disease, evaluate living kidney and pancreas donors, and to treat and provide aftercare for transplant recipients.

Dr. Shah’s research is focused on understanding risk factors for BK viremia in kidney transplant recipients, and studying the role of gut microbiota in infectious and immunological complications after kidney transplantation. Dr. Shah's academic interests include understanding barriers in referring patients with chronic kidney disease for kidney transplantation and finding culturally sensitive ways to amend them.
