Sabrina Holmquist, MD, MPH

Assistant Professor of Obstetrics/Gynecology

Dr. Sabrina Holmquist provides gynecologic and reproductive health care for women and adolescents. She specializes in contraceptive care for women and teens with complex medical histories, including management of hormonal contraception, placement of intrauterine devices, implantable contraceptives and surgical sterilization. She also provides comprehensive pregnancy options counseling and management for women with fetal or chromosomal abnormalities detected during their pregnancies.

Dr. Holmquist's research interests include emerging contraceptive options, emergency contraception and medical education in family planning and reproductive choice. She is a leader in medical education within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, teaching resident physicians in the outpatient clinic and operating room. Dr. Holmquist is also director for the third-year medical student clerkship in obstetrics and gynecology. She oversees sub-internships for fourth-year students and teaches in the pre-clinical curriculum at the Pritzker School of Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Holmquist trains family planning fellows and residents through the Ryan Center clinic at the University of Chicago.
