Sameer A. Ansari, MD, PhD

Dr. Sameer Ansari is a specialist in interventional neuroradiology. Guided by x-rays, ultrasound, CT and MR imaging and using specialized instruments, neurointerventionalists perform minimally invasive diagnostic and surgical procedures within the central nervous system, head, neck and spine. Dr. Ansari diagnoses and treats patients with intracranial aneurysms, vascular malformations, acute strokes, carotid and intracranial stenosis, osteoporotic or metastatic vertebral body fractures, and tumors of the head, neck and spine.

Dr. Ansari’s clinical research is focused on the treatment of neurological conditions, including distal cervical and intracranial dissections; as well as the embolization of intracranial aneurysms with bioactive-coated coils. His basic science interests are in the characterization of neurovascular markers to assist in both molecular imaging and treatment of neurovascular disease such as arteriovenous fistulas and malformations.
