Sandi Lam, MDAssistant Professor of SurgerySandi Lam, MD, is a fellowship-trained pediatric neurosurgeon specializing in the care of patients of all ages with pediatric or congenital problems. Her clinical expertise includes the full spectrum of pediatric neurosurgical disorders. Her specific interests include epilepsy surgery, brain and spinal tumors, neurovascular anomalies, endoscopic neurosurgery, and congenital anomalies of the central nervous system, including spina bifida and tethered cord syndrome. Dr. Lam also has a specific clinical and research interest in syringomyelia and Chiari malformation, having received research funding in this area. Dr. Lam’s research program is centered on outcomes research to improve the results of neurosurgical treatments. In addition to teaching medical students and residents at the University of Chicago, Dr. Lam travels internationally to provide and teach neurosurgical care, and lectures widely on her topics of interest.
