Cancer Survivors Day Celebration

The University of Chicago Medical Center is celebrating its annual cancer survivors day. Please join us for an afternoon of sharing, encouragement, and hope. A "survivor" is anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer. Family, friends, and children are welcome, too. Admission to this event is free.

Our guest speaker is Rue McClanahan who is best known as the southern belle Blanche on the longtime hit television show The Golden Girls. Rue is a breast cancer survivor and insists that life gets better with age and urges people battling cancer to stay determined and optimistic.

The event will also include exhibit booths, hors d'oeuvres, refreshments and activities for children. Lynne Jordan & the Shivers will provide entertainment.
