Cancer Survivors Day Celebration
The University of Chicago Medical Center is celebrating its annual cancer survivors day. Please join us for an afternoon of sharing, encouragement and hope. A "survivor" is anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer. Family, friends and children are welcome too. Admission to this event is free.
The speaker is Dave Drevecky, former major league baseball pitcher for the San Francisco Giants and cancer survivor. Dave lost his arm to cancer.
This event will also feature:
- Remarks by David H. Song, MD, associate professor of surgery
- Master of ceremonies Tom Shaer, sportscaster on Sports News Radio
- Entertainment by Lynne Jordan and the Shivers, 1:30 p.m.
- Exhibit booths
- Hor d'oeuvres and refreshments
- Activities for children
