Department of Community Relations
The University of Chicago Medicine outreach team visits South Side neighborhoods, creating community connections and delivering information and services. Working closely with the University of Chicago Medicine Urban Health Initiative, the group focuses on creating partnerships and providing information to empower South Side residents around increasing healthy lifestyles and decreasing health disparities.  This commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles extends to support groups and hosting informational community-based seminars, helping individuals understand and pursue wellness options.

The community relations team also shares information on the primary care services available through the South Side Healthcare Collaborative, a network of more than 30 federally qualified health centers that provide health care to the community, particularly the underserved.
