Small Grants Initiative

The University of Chicago Medical Center established the Small Grants Initiative to promote the development of healthier and safer communities. This program provides financial support for schools, churches, and other organizations in 10 surrounding neighborhoods.

Your community organization is encouraged to apply for a grant if it offers events or activities that promote the following:

Health

• Health fairs/initiatives
• Health education workshops

Sports and Recreation

• Support to local teams
• Equipment (e.g., balls, bats, gloves)
• Plaques, trophies, certificates, t-shirts

Neighborhood Beautification

• Equipment (e.g., rakes, lawnmower, paint)
• Gardening equipment and supplies
