The multidisciplinary gynecologic cancer team at the University of Chicago Comprehensive Cancer Center works together to provide the best possible care for women with gynecologic cancer. Our team includes expert gynecologic oncologists, radiologists, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, and nurses. Because communication among these specialists is vital, the entire team meets weekly to share information and insights--leading to the most effective, and often groundbreaking, treatments for our patients.
Many new treatments for gynecologic cancers, including specialized radiation treatment, such as IMRT, are available at the University of Chicago medical center. In fact, we are one of the key participants in the Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG), which does more gynecologic cancer research than any other organization in the United States.
Besides medical advances, experts at the University of Chicago also can provide women with the resources and support they need to cope with their disease. We realize that care doesn’t end with medicine. It involves comfort, compassion, and collaboration with the patient.
