Radiation Therapy

The radiation therapy team at the University of Chicago Medical Center is dedicated to offering the most caring, compassionate, and scientifically advanced radiation therapy available anywhere. The department is one of the largest multi-site radiation oncology medical practices in the country, treating approximately 2,000 patients per year at the following clinical practice sites:

  • University of Chicago Medical Center
  • University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital
  • University of Illinois Hospital
  • La Grange Memorial Hospital

We offer a full range of services including conformal radiation therapy, intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), radioisotope source implants, prostate seed implants, high-dose-rate brachytherapy, radiosurgery, intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT), and superficial X-ray therapy. Members of our team also provide special expertise in radiation therapy for childhood cancers.

The Department of Radiation and Cellular Oncology is internationally recognized as one of the leading academic medical programs in its specialty field. Our physicians and scientists are involved in a wide range of scientific research projects that are leading to a better understanding of cancer and better treatments for our patients.
