General Internal Medicine
Physicians in the Section of General Internal Medicine specialize in primary care for adults, and in the care of patients with acute and chronic multi-system conditions. Several of our physicians are double-boarded in medicine and pediatrics and provide care to pediatric patients. Our care emphasizes preventive health and general well-being. The section also includes programs on health care disparities, physician-patient communications and medical ethics.
The Primary Care Group is the main site for adult primary care activity at the University of Chicago Medicine. Medical care is delivered by faculty and resident physicians, and nurse practitioners. The medical providers see patients by appointment only. Our urgent care center is available six days per week for established patients
University of Chicago general internists can be seen at our medical campus in the Hyde Park neighborhood and at our 150 E. Huron location.
