Heart & Kidney Transplant: Kenneth's Story

Kenneth Woodka encountered many obstacles when he looked for a hospital for his transplant surgery. He visited six hospitals hoping to be added to their transplant waiting lists -- only to be turned down by every one because he was deemed to be too high risk. Not wanting to give up, Kenneth turned to the University of Chicago Medical Center, an internationally known center for multi-organ transplant surgery. Thankfully, UCMC's experienced transplant team was able to give Kenneth the life-saving heart-kidney transplant surgery he needed so he could get back to enjoying life with his family and friends.
