Here at the University of Chicago Medical Center, we offer a holistic, multidisciplinary approach to the management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This includes:

• Ongoing asthma and COPD management provided by physicians who specialize in the care of these respiratory conditions
• Treatment for patients with severe or labile (unstable) asthma or COPD
• Comprehensive evaluation of asthma and COPD, including pulmonary-function testing, allergy testing, bronchoscopy, testing of exhaled nitric oxide, radiographs and assessment by a physician
• Educational guidance and resources on how to manage asthma and COPD, including correct use of medications, avoiding triggers, and what to do if you have trouble breathing
• Expert counseling and medications to help with smoking cessation
