Radiology

x-ray

The Department of Radiology has had a long-standing commitment to excellence in clinical medicine, research, and teaching. Devices that are now fundamental to the practice of radiology were developed and first built in the department's machine shops. Technetium-99m--a cornerstone of contemporary nuclear medicine--was first introduced by our faculty.

Our physicians and researchers have published papers that revolutionized gastrointestinal radiology, the examination of the inner ear, and introduced transbronchial biopsy.
