Breast Imaging
Our expert mammographic technologists and breast imaging radiologists in the Section of Breast Imaging offer personal and compassionate care to all patients. In addition to high quality screening and diagnostic mammography in the diagnosis of breast cancer and benign breast disease, we offer second opinions--especially for high-risk patients and those with complex breast problems.
High resolution ultrasound, pre-op needle localization, ductography, and both ultrasound and digital stereotactic-guided biopsies or aspirations are among our specialties. We are also investigating better methods and technologies for breast cancer detection, including computer-aided diagnosis and new biopsy techniques. We work closely with other specialists at the University of Chicago Hospitals to tailor workups and imaging studies for each individual patient.
