Construction Updates & Street Closures
Temporary street closures are in effect due to city and university construction projects. Please allot an additional 20 minutes of travel time for your visit to the Medical Center. Please plan to check this Web site for updates before each visit. Current changes include:
- Please follow the recommended driving directions on this site. As of March 20, there will be no westbound traffic on 59th Street between Maryland Avenue and Cottage Grove Avenue.
- View a campus map (PDF) of recommended routes to and from the main parking garage.
- Visitors and patients traveling via Lake Shore Drive or the Chicago Skyway: When leaving the Medical Center main parking garage, please exit north (left) onto Maryland Avenue and drive north to 57th Street. Turn left onto 57th Street and drive south (left) on Cottage Grove to the Midway Plaisance to reach your destination. View a map (PDF)
